Best Butt Exercises For Losing Fat

For years, you've been told the best exercise to lose fat is long sessions of aerobic activity. And you've been told to do it four to six times a week. You haven't been told the truth. The most effective way to burn fat doesn't take nearly as much time as these traditional work-outs.

I've owned so many different exercise machines. I've had a treadmill, a stair climber, a stationary bike, a rowing machine, and many others. I currently own an elliptical machine. And I used to work my butt off (not literally, unfortunately) on these things 45 minutes a day five times a week. I'd get in my target heart rate and stay there for the whole work-out. I thought it was the best way to burn fat. But if it was, I'd be slender, and I'm not…yet.

Now, I'm starting to drop pounds because I discovered the truth about the best way to burn body fat: This type of exercise actually slows down the slimming process instead of speeding it up. Here's why:

When you do these longer work-outs, your body dips into your stored body fat for energy during the sessions. And thought this sounds like a good thing, it has a bad side effect. It induces your body to create more fat to hold in reserve after the work-out so it will be ready for the next one.

On top of that, your heart and lungs become more efficient at handling these long exercise sessions, and although this sounds good too, it means they become inefficient in handling tougher jobs like handling stress. In other words, they're never challenged to have to really put out to do the tough jobs when they're needed.

So what do we need to do?

The best exercise to burn fat is resistance training. When you build up your muscle mass, you turn your body into a furnace that melts away the excess pounds.

The reason for this is that your body needs calories to nourish the new muscle you're building, so it speeds up your metabolism, burning through calories faster to keep up with the new job it has. On top of that, when you do intense resistance work, your body has to repair and build. It will dip into your stored body fat to do that.

This increase in calories burned and drain on the stored fat cells means you'll be getting skinny even when you're doing nothing at all. Your body is doing the work for you after you do the most amazingly small amount of exercise.

Here's the part I like best about all of this. Doing the right kind and amount of weight training takes just 20 to 30 minutes, and you do it only two or three times a week. If you learn to do it in a way that challenges your body, in the right kind of intense spurts, you drop pounds without starving yourself and without devoting yourself to hours of exercise.

The most effective way to burn fat is not hours of aerobic exercise. The best exercise to lose fat is proper resistance training.
